Suggestions for a 40S&W IPSC load?

Hi All:

My wife just got a new Kimber 1911 in 40s&w, and I'd like to load up some nice light-recoiling loads for her to shoot for IPSC. Anyone have any favorite loads they'd like to share? I have some 165gr FMJ's so far, but haven't stocked up on bullets yet until I settle on what works.

I've used two light loads for .40 S&W

4.2 grains of w231 with a 180 grain bullet

3.6 grains of clays with a 180 grain bullet.

both are in the 125-135 PF.
 
Since it's a 1911 type gun, she'll be shooting in Standard (or maybe Open?), either way, she has the choice to shoot Major or Minor.

If she's going for Major, I might suggest 7.2 grains or Longshot with a 180 grains bullets. It gives about 975 FPS, and a PF of 175.5. That's the load for my backup gun in case my .45 1911 fails me.

Pro : Major load, more forgiving on Cs and Ds
Con : Not light recoiling.
 
Thanks! She'll be shooting in standard division, at least for now, and I'm thinking to start with a minor load, as we're not exactly sweeping the competitions at this point in any case - just out to have fun shooting :)

Anyone use Bullseye for 40S&W? (I happen to have some handy)
 
I'm not using Bullseye myself, so I'm only quoting you data from Alliant Reloading guide. Those are MAX loads.

135grs : 7.6grs of Bullseye @ 1350 FPS
150grs : 6.7grs of Bullseye @ 1125 FPS
180grs : 5.5grs of Bullseye @ 1012 FPS
200grs : 4.6grs of Bullseye @ 945 FPS
