Looking at buying a bolt action. I will be using it at the range and possibly hunting. I am seeking suggestions as to what caliber to choose.

Needs to be acceptible for deer
Ammo reasonably priced and easy to find
Accurate

Was considering 6.5 Creedmore but would like to hear other suggestions and why.

308...great for both range and field, wide bullet weight selection. I have a 6.5CM and it's a decent cartridge, my rifle seems to only like 140gr pills and heavier, anything lighter it shoots very poorly. By comparison I have shot everything from 110gr to 200gr in my 308 and they all shot very well.
It's kind of odd as I've been playing with 6.5x55 for a couple decades, and they shoot 90gr to 160gr just like the 308 does, very well. Similar twist rates, so I'm not really sure why my 6.5cm blows with lighter then 140gr bullets.

6.5 CM would serve you fine, but the .308 would give you more on the shelf ammo choices for target, hunting, plinking. I'm also a fan of the 7mm-08. There are plenty of offerings from Remington, Savage, and Tikka, amongst others, depending on what your rifle preferences are.

You can never go wrong with a 30-06. You can scale up bullets for large animals or scale down for smaller animals. Tons of reach, easy to find low cost quality ammo. All round great calibre for anything in North America.
If you are a smaller individual and focused solely on deer I would consider a 308 or 270 for little lower recoil. Again tons of low cost quality ammo available. For a rifle consider Weatherby Vanguard II or Browning X-Bolt.
