I recently purchased my first air rifle (save and except my Daisy a lifetime ago) and I'd like to put a scope on it. I'd like to strike a balance between cost and quality and it need not be variable. Suggestions from folks with experience will be appreciated.
Thanks
Ron

I use a bushnell banner 4-12 on most of the airguns ive had also so do many other shooters it seems the scope of choice and price point really, it is currently sitting on a 22 now.
The manufacturer states they are fine for spring air rifles. THey run about $120 and you can find them on the EE quite often. For the money they are nice and clear even in low condiitons. Anyways its a bushnell so if it breaks you just put it in the mail.

Currently i am using a tasco bantam 4x20mm with circle reticle $20 at michigan walmart.
Im really impressed that its holding up for the last year with no problems.

Also tasco, rex, most companies make airgun scopes
IF you have a more specific question let me know

The Bushnells seem to stand up well to airgun use. We are using an older, low end Bushnell on a magnum springer (crono at 1200 fps with standard 177 lead pellets) and it has held up very well. It is a low power variable scope, made in Japan (the new low end Bushnells are made in China or Korea), and the glass is surprisingly good/bright.

I just ordered a Hawke 3x9/40 from DL Airgun for my magnum power rifle. It is supoosed to be good bang for the buck, plus they have some neat ballistics software on their website to use with it (or any other scope for that matter).

My son has a MAP 6X Hawke on his RWS 34/.22 Mulitple aiming point Centre dot 20 yards and everyone below add 10 yards all you have to do is estimate correct distance...........................Harold
