Suggestions for an unsalvageable Lee Enfield

Required one old penny, one rusty rifle, oil (any thick oil ie 10w30) and elbow grease.
Oil rust to be removed, oil penny and rub. Rust will come off but not the blueing, most times.
The theory is the copper penny is harder than the rust but not as hard as the steel. Steel wool is hard and abrasive leaves scratches. The penny will not scratch and leave any blueing under the rust intact.
In most cases this works, a miracle in fact. Don't work to well with deep pitting/active corrosion, but still worth a bit of effort and elbow grease.
Good luck finding an old penny.
Be well
