Suggestions for DMR optic

If I ever get around to picking up a stag 10, I'll be putting a Vortex PST gen 2 3-15 or whatever the mag range is.
On a precision gun, vortex PST's are the cheapest I'd go, they're only 1200-1400 i recall.
You get what you pay for.

I’m planning on a Bushnell 3-12 LRTSi on my Stag-10, when I build it. Already have 2 of em (1 on a .22 and one on my M14) and think they make a great optic for a precision gas gun.

Couple more bucks gets you a sightron S-tac 3-16. I am pretty fond of mine, it’s heavy but the glass is great, I like the reticle a lot and I really like the capped target turrets.

Trijicon 1-8 works wonders for me as I use it for hunting and as a run and gun rifle as well.

BTW my Trijicon on 8X has better picture clarity over my 12x Redfeild and SII. More zoom dosent equal better.

I had just been to Cabela’s today and I looked through the vortex strike eagle 3-18 and I love that optic, also was impressed with
Nikon p308 but unsure about the no parallax adjustment, I know I’m pinching penny’s here but I’m not going to war I’m going to the range and north for hunting so a decent optic is all I need the vortex really impressed me for the price,

Top 4 I’m thinking of

Vortex strike eagle 3-18
Nikon p308 or m308
Bushnell 3-18 ar 308
Primary arms hud 308

From your list I'd pick the Nikon m308 but I'd suggest going with the Sightron S-Tac 3-16 as Uisge suggested, I have one on my Modern Hunter and it's a great little scope for around $1000. I order my Sightron scopes through Jerry at Mystic Precision, great guy to deal with.

I know a lot of guys spend a lot on there optics and I understand why but I’d like the 300-600 range if possible there seems to be lots of options once I get to the 400 and up

I’m a fan of the Burris E1 3-9x. Worth looking through one of those at a store as well.

I should also add to check the eye relief. A lot of the tactical scopes, especially the less expensive or cheap ones are built/designed for 223/5.56. They will often have short eye relief. Not something you want with an AR10. The Burris 3.1" at max magnification and 3.4" at 3X is about the minimum I would consider. I can shoot that without a brake in a medium weight AR308 without issue. But I wouldn't want any less. If going for a light AR10, then you want more eye relief. Just thought I would mention this as many forget about that part.

Nightforce Nx8, Mine is crazy good. If that would be a little to expensive I would second Dilligaf. 1-8 Accupoints are quite nice. The Reticle is right on the edge of being daylight bright though. I see them on EE for as low as $1300.

Buy once, Cry once. I threw more than a few bucks away settling on something else (leupold vx6 1-6x24) but it had a few things that bugged me alot about it. I would consider spending more if you have the ability. If not consider something from EE, you could probably get alot more optic for a few hundred more on the used market and if you stick with brands that have good warranty you should have no issues. Viper PST 1-6x is decent as well. The new Strike Eagle 1-8x is okay as well from what I have seen.

So basically i have narrowed it down to two optics, the strike eagle 3-18 and the Primary Arms ACSS hud 308,
I like the reticle in both optics, but they both have two different Philosophy of use , I like the primary arms because of the hold over reticle, But they strike Eagle gives you the ability to dial in and compensate. I’m leaning towards the primary arms so far because I already have a Percision rifle with great optic’s .the primary arms Is a dmr optics.. if any one has ever used one or owns
One I’d love to get feed back

I have several of the Primary Arms Scopes and you wont go wrong with one. I use mine out to 700 yards with good success.

Glad to hear that, I’ve watched multiple videos online but it’s hard to tell if it’s all hype or not. Have you ever had any issues with them and if so how was there customer service?

I have 4 of them and I did actually have a problem with one. One call to CTCS and I had a new scope on the way. I just sent them back the old one and they replaced it with a new one. I really like their products.

I like my accupoint 1x8. More than enough to shoot gongs at 500 with my 102 in 308. On my long range semi I run a razor 3 x 18 which is a big step up.
