Suggestions on a Vise I should pick up for my AR-15 Builds?

I'm looking to add a Vise to my workbench specifically for use in building a couple of AR-15's.

Suggestions from anyone on what I should pick up?
 
I just use a Mastercraft 4" swivel bench vise from CanadianTire. It does the job, works with all my vise blocks inc barrel blocks and is pretty solid. It usually goes on sale pretty cheap every couple months. If I had a bigger workbench, I might have opted for the 5" model but honestly, for all my AR builds, I haven't missed not having the larger one.
 
Any 4" + vise will do. The Power fist 5 in. Swivel Base Mechanics Vise is $70. Pad it with wood or leather.
How solid is your bench? That's very important.
 
Swivel vises suck monkey balls.
I don't think one exists that will truly hold it's position in time of need. Get a solid fixed bench vise. A heavy old vise from an auction will suit general purpose way better than the cheap crap on the market at local stores today.
4" would be the minimum I'd say. Bigger is always better in the vise world, when you have a barrel to remove, or a pipe to bend. That vise will find lots of other uses you don't see at present.

We have a Princess Auto 6" swivel vise at work. I swear I'm gonna weld that prick solid. It's always spinning around when you need to put some real force on it. Locks won't hold. Same for the CTC 4" swivel I had at home. I finally went out and bought a 4" fixed from a local auction. A solid vise is your friend.
 
For working on ARs, google "Hyskore".....they make a couple handy units.
Have one of their "discontinued" larger models, very good piece.
 
I use a record 4 inch vice and a variety of pads/jaws

But record Is owned by a Chinese company and they are not as nice as the old british ones. So find an old one.

they aren't bad, just not as good.
