I'm getting into Bowhunting and I'm thinking that a rangefinder might be a good idea. It'd work well for my regular hunting as well.
I'm thinking that a monocular might be how I'd lean.
But I don't see the need for long range shots. So pinpoint ranging to 1000 yards is a bit of overkill. Realistically 500 yds is too far to shoot and cleanly ( and ethnically ) kill.
Any suggestions?

I like the options which provide corrections for drop (helpful in tree stands or steep terrain because it does make a difference), rain options, excellent battery life. I have a rx750 leupold and like it for the reasons above. IMO, a range finder is a must for bowhunting shots over 30 yards, or for finding your shots from a tree stand. It will provide you with the mental edge in making a good shot at your maximum effective range. Enjoy.
