Thanks, that is is the info I needed. I will research it a bit more.
Lots of Remington Bashers on here, plus some who have heard stories and are fearful.
That is fine. But there are plenty of very good 700s out there, and I have yet to own
one that could not be made to shoot well.
Since imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, all the clones and actions built to copy
the 700 platform speak for themselves, and for Remington.
Too bad that a money grubbing conglomerate sunk them so badly. Hopefully the new
owners will eventually lift Remington out of the ashes and make them what they once were.
I have at present about 12 - 700 Remingtons. I would prefer not to part with any of them.
I have one Savage, a rebarrelled M10, but the barrel is a take off from a 40X Remington, lol.
To the OP, if you find a decent 700 in the chambering you are seeking, I would suggest you
buy it. Dave.
