Hey guys!!

I'm looking into buying a o/u shotgun, to do some trap, and some bird hunting with!!

i was wondering what you guys have shot / own and what you recommend brand and model wise for durability, reliability... and i plan on keeping it a LONG time haha

How much do u plan to shoot it? Ie; lots of trap/skeet or just the odd time with some buds. 100 rounds of hunting or 500 a year. You will need to try some for fit as well. Check at gun shops, shows & friends, see what feels right. Don't hurry & injoy. AJ
 
Hey Farmboy... I picked up a Winchester Super X2. I had basically the same purpose as you. It was on clearance @ BassPro (as the X3 is now the current model)
I don't have tons of experience, but I would highly recommend this autoloader shotgun.
It is simple, easy to clean, and from what research I have done pretty reliable. I have had no issues cycling 1oz 2 3/4" Winchester AA skeet rounds through it. Some of the cheaper/lighter stuff it may not like (mine is a 3.5" mag version).
 
sx2 isn't a o/u.

This depends more on what you wanna shoot more, target guns are usually heavier to suck up the recoil while a hunting gun is lighter and makes for a better carry.

My buddy shoots a citori, and it's a great target gun, great for waterfowl, but he ends up missing grouse every year cuz he ends up carrying it over his shoulder in the bush.
