Im not sure if we want to do this thread in this forum or another?
im putting it here because im looking at one of these guns to be my hunting rifle and also do some beginner distance shooting, so ill start it here, if the mods think it would be better suited elsewhere just let me know or move it manually.
As the fall is fast approaching i find myself starting to think about picking up one of those fancy new AR-10 knock off Non-Restriced rifles to replace my huning rifle.
but as i live in the remote north there are not a lot of them around up here for me to have a look at up close.
so i was wondering if anyone has had a change to compare any of the new rifles to each other and if any one of them is standing out as better quality than the others?
i realize that we can pick and choose whichever barrels we want to add onto them, but lets just keep it basic and talk about the main part of the gun and what the build quality is like.
i think im like most shooters out there in that if i am going to be kicking out just shy of $2000 i kind of want to be sure im getting the best product that i can for my money.
so far the guns i see on the market are the following (keep in mind im looking 308)
1) Alberta Tactical Modern Hunter (my partner at work has one of these so i know they are nice but $$)
2) BCL102 (friend of a friend has one and my LGS has/had one in)
3) StagArms Stag10
4) Maccabee Defence SLR
am i missing any that should be in here for consideration?
so if you have any of the above let chime in and lets talk about the build quality and if you would purchase again and why you picked it up in the first place?
kinda things im interested in, price and quality of course but how easy to work on, how easy to replace parts, if they use after market stuff (trigger groups and forgrips, barrels and such)
