Hey fellas, I finally got out again yesterday an moved around through some black berries late in the evening.
I was given a box of Aussie made projectiles called B&T energetics, I had .30 cal 168gr FB HP rounds called "Pole Axe" an it had been a while since I had taken any game an was chasing some Roasts.
I took the chance to take this Sambar Hind from around 80m as she stood facing me. at the shot she stumbled an took off 50m before piling up.
I was short on time so whipped the back legs off an backstraps, then proceeded to see what damage the Bonded, controlled expansion bullet had done.
upon cutting the front legs I was instantly surprised by the devestation the projectile had created on its way to the Lung an then further into the Gut cavity. I did not recover the projectile so the jury is still out on penetration from the bullets.
The maker himself said they will hold good weight an penetrate well, although hollow point will expand at first.
I didn't take photos of the devestation as its not something I really enjoy, although I hope to put a 168gr in a broadside animal soon.
I shot her with the 308,
Cheers
