For recoating metal parts on a previously painted Enfield, I know Suncorite is next to impossible to find now but what could be considered an equivalent or superior coating with the same looks?
I want to restore a 2/1945 Faz Mk1No5 to its "before issuing" state and part of the painted coating is long gone. The rest is, well, scruffy at best.
Since that all-matching firearm has a beautiful, almost mint walnut wood set, I'd like to stay as near as possible with the metal finish.
Do you think GunGuard or GunKote can look like Suncorite?

There was some guys on the bren gun forum that were talking about it and if memory serves me right might have had some. But they stated it was really nasty stuff and has some very caustic chemicals in it especilly evident during the baking and mixing process.

I wouldnt bother I'd go with a very low gloss Duracoat or similiar.

Is it Canadian "accessible" and who does that treatment here in Québec?
PP.

Barret Arms out of Edmonton sells Armacoat. He goes by Murdoc on here. He also does refinishing. If you can get the gun blasted cheap, you can get an airbrush kit at walmart for like $25, the paint is around $20 for 4oz, which would do a couple of guns.
