Super Blackhawk issue - question

I have an older Super Blackhawk that has a sort-of half moon extension just below the knurling on the cylinder release pin. As opposed to, for example, the New Vaquero's which just have a straight pin.
Problem is, with the Blackhawk, the pin tends to roll when removing or pushing back-in, which causes that half moon protrusion to bind against the barrel, which jams-up the pin. To correct, I have to rotate the pin slightly with a pair of needle nose pliers to un-bind the pin. Anyone experience this? have a fix?

Anyone know if a straight pin will work or is available from Brownells?

Thanks - Nick

Any chance of a close up picture of the pin's head with this shape?

I've got the opposite issue. Mine is a little newer and has the simple round thimble end like you're considering buying. I have to hold it "just right" to keep it from turning as it is inserted so the notches will line up and the retainer will snap into the notch correctly. I wonder if shape of the head on your cylinder pin is intended to make it easier to hold steady or to slide along the barrel to guide the pin and perhaps you're just not doing it right? A picture would help.

Just heading out for week, I'll get you some pics when I get back - give me your email please. For now - a well oiled slide and wiggling the cylinder when pushing the rod back in seems to work best. Sound kinda ####o sorry.
