Super nova tactical stock change

Well I recently picked up a supernova tactical with the telescopic pistol grip stock. It’s not bad, but I prefer the comfortech stock. So I ordered one, and the parts needed for the install, locking plate, stock retaining but screw and the shin kit. I’ve got everything apart and have run into a problem. It looks like the drop change shim has to go under the recoil spring tune but, but I can’t get this nut to budge. Anyone swapped these stocks before? Or taken a supernova apart? Any advice? Or should I take it to a smith?
I don’t want to damage anything by applying to much force, I haven’t tried heat yet but not sure if that would damage anything as well.
Thanks

Which nut are you trying to get off? The drop and cast shims go on just before the stock goes on, they are only held in between the stock and receiver by the one nut holding the stock assembly in place. I wouldn't try heat on a largely polymer receiver.

Looks like 19.
It’s at the receiver end of the recoil tube. The drop change shim doesn’t go over the nut, so when I slide the stock on there is a gap. If I don’t put the shim in the stock buts up against the receiver.

I am taking off a tactical telescopic pistol grip stock and putting on a tactical comfortech stock.

It's as I suspected, the nut is a jam nut to time the adjustable stock tube. There is no nut on the comfortech tube, as it simply threads to the shoulder. I don't know if its part of the metal skeleton of the receiver, or if it screw into the polymer overmould, so if you do heat it, go low and slow and be careful. That is why your D&C shims are not fitting over the nut, as it's not supposed to be there.

Interesting. I’l probably wait till I talk to the smith at stoeger, on how to best remove it. My guess is a heat gun at the end of the recoil tube maybe. Thanks for the picture. In the mean while I’ll just bust some clays with my new to me Cooey 840.

Hey Frank, would you be so kind to pm me the outfit that you ordered your parts from and the list of components you ordered. I own the same shotgun and I to want to swap the stock for comfort reasons. thank you sir.
