like the title say.
i'm in the market for a long range quality rifle in 300WM and i'm considering the all custom path as well as the '''out of the box '''' options like HS precision HTR, savage 10fcp mcmillan, sako trg's and such high quality factory rifles .
on the custom side of things , i've already draw the plan which would be in 300wm
-stiller tac 300 action
-26'' barstein OR benchmark barrel
- AI folding aics 2.0 OR AX chassis
-jewell trigger
would probably put a nightforce 20moa rail and rings ridden by a nightforce NXS 5.5X22X56
after some quick maths, i realized that rolling on the factory route wouldn't provides much savings compared to a custom build, while i still wonder which formula can bring me the most consistent accuracy for 500 yard and beyond bore cold or warm ; on the other side i'd like to get that superior accuracy ,and the tactical advantage of an heavy bull barrel'ed rifle with a folding stock and tactical look .
what do you guys think on that matter ?
