I've got one of the old surefire 215 four prong models, and it rings like a bell too.

I never took issue with it, but it seems dumb of surefire to promise something and not deliver.

Yep, both my AAC 3-prong flash hiders ring like a tuning fork, although less aggressively than a 4-prong or 5-prong design.
