I want a Surefire for my 870... Not sure if I should go with gen 1 or gen 2. I know the gen 2 is more expensive and 600 lumens but I haven't heard any comparison reviews.

Please only post if tried out both of them.
 
Depends on how much you're willing to spend. The new one is more compact and lighter but the old one is proven and you can get Malkoff head for it.

Don't you have to buy a whole new light for it? I looked at the heads and they all say that they wont work in a surefire forend
 
The Malkoff is plenty bright for shotgun purposes, and I kinda like the feel of the Gen1 more. The Gen 2 is brighter tho, and pretty slick.
