Surefire M951

I've got one - haven't quite gotten around to upgrading with an LED conversion (likely going to go with a Malkoff M61). I rather like mine for the obvious build quality and aesthetics, but it's a bit on the heavy side compared to some of the newer offerings out there (ie. the Surefire Scout series). The price sounds about right if you're able to source one in Canada - but in my opinion, if you're paying that much, it better be a brand new/unused unit. I got mine a couple of years back for about $140 all told, but the dollar was a little better then.

I agree. The model you mention is big and fairly hefty compared to latest offerings from Surefire. I just sold off my last 95 series. Replaced all with Scout mini's (300 V). Got gem out if the good ol USA. Even with our crummy dollar they were just over $300 each. New in boxes.

I have an m952v which is similar in size. Id say if you are funds limited but want quality one of the opder surefires is a good way to go but if u have the money or you can wait get the scout series lights.

If it doesnt have to be surefire i have had good lick with the inforce wml although some have reported them cracking under hard use but other will abuse them and have no issue.

Streamlight also makes some good budget weapon lights

I have also had good luck with a 4 sevens quark 123 turbo in a voltor qd offset mount but be careful when buying non dedicated weaponlights, some cant withatand the forces put in them under recoild, ive heard fenix doesnt do too well mounted on guns

Go for it, it is built like a tank. Yes, the newer LED models are lighter, but upgrading this with Malkoff will make it a better contender.
I have both this and the 9V version in mint condition and I am never planning to sell them.
