Hey guys, I just purchased a mossberg 590, and thought it would be a great idea, to learn how to strip my shotgun, and install my shiny new surfire lamp on the gun.
After a great video on youtube, with directions, I was able to strip that bad boy and put her back together. I even figured out how to remove the plastic cover that goes over the grip.

Problem though, I cant use the gun, because the light hits the bayonet lug.
My surefire says it will fit the 500/590 series, so I assumed it would work.

Any ideas? or am I stuck removing the lug with a good ol hacksaw?

post a pic of the barrel with the light. Is it possibly to dremmel a small area of the bayonet lug to allow the light to sit in a recess?

Buy an off-set adaptor to lower the light in the forend, usually used on the MP5 when using a suppressor

...or you could buy a bayonet :D .

Its all good boys, I hacked it off, and the boys at Hunters were very kind, they polished it all up, and treated the metal, so it looks Factory again!
I will post pictures when I get a chance. I just wish I could find a way to post pictures like you guys, I have a photobucket account, but I can only link with them, not actually post the picture.

Under the pic when you are in photobucket there are 3 lines of code. you copy the img code and paste the link in the forum, and wala it posts the actual pic in the forum. and it that dosenot work than it is way beyond my computer skills lol.
