I have the Surefire MB556 on my AR. I must say it is awesome. I was running a Battlecomp 1.0 on my AR originally. After switching over to the Surefire I noticed a considerable difference in felt recoil and muzzle rise. The Surefire keeps the rifle very flat and on target even during strings of rapid successive firing. I unfortunately have no experience with the Griffin Armament to make a comparison.
+1 on the Surefire muzzle break. Have one on my Mk18 and DD M4V5. I install the Griffin M4SD on my friend Ar, I try for a few hundreds rounds and I can't see any big improvement over the A2 FH.
Lantac Dragon... have it on my Dd m4v7... even better than i expected and not as loud as i tought it would be. Of course i don't have experience with any of the 2 brakes you mentioned so take it for what it worth.
I have the Griffin Armament M4SD II Muzzle Brake on my 18" AR, its all kinds of good. A little concussive, but not bade for the style of break. I see very little muzzle rise when shooting with small split times.
Surefire SFMB-556-1/2-28 on my Noveske shooting Norc ammo
