Hi,
I have just picked up a couple of Sureshots.
Reading around - one is an older, possible 1940's model if Simpson's catalogues are to be believed, logo on receiver and dovetail rear-sight, the other with the logo on the barrel and the simpler rear-sight.
1. Both fore-sights appear to be the same - how do they attach? Are they just wedged/ knocked into the saddle on the barrel

2. Neither rear-sight has the square washer that I see advertised with replacement NOS. How important is it?
