While I'm thinking of it, any of you guys or girls with Garands know of anybody with surplus non-corrosive M2 ball? I know there is a lot of Greek surplus south of the border, but did any of it make it north? I'm betting that like all other surplus, the supply is short right now.

I think there is 'no supply' for us.:(
Someone was selling on EE a few months ago for something like $500/1000rds.
The Greek was/is beautiful stuff. I brought back 5000rds from the U.S. back in the day when it was ok to do so. Worked wonderfully in the Garand. Wish we could get it again.

M2 Ball ammo is basically impossible to find in Canada, I too used to get some good deals in the USA back in the day, but now I reload all my own M2 Ball type ammo. It is the only way to have a constant supply.

"...the supply is short right now..." In 30 plus years, including a few working in a shop, I have never seen case lots of .30-06 ball. Not once.
Reloading makes the endless search for ammo go away. Work up a load using IMR4064 and 165 grain hunting bullets or 168 grain match bullets.
The rifle was not designed to use .30 M2 ammo. It was designed to use .30 M1 ammo with its 174.5 grain bullet.

Funny? others say it was made for M2 not M1 ball.

"...made for M2 not M1 ball..." There was no such thing as .30 M2 ammo until 1938. It was developed because the M1 ammo proved to have too much range for U.S. National Guard ranges. It's MV was raised in 1940 to 2800fps to match the ballistics of .30 AP ammo.
Read Hatcher's Book of the Garand. It covers the developement of the rifle and its ammo.

I got three cases of M2 Korean I think in Malta about three weeks ago. Shipping was $110

If you are bringing in personal quantities, you might want to make more friends .... Check the Explosives and Customs regulations about personal importations.

Importing is not the problem, exporting from the US IS the problem....

YOU can thank the bureaucrats in Ottawa if you don't see much surplus on the shelves in Canada.
