Surplus .303 value

Is there any value for 1944 .303 British made in Dum Dum India. Or just maybe shoot it. I came across 20rds of it. I don't know if anyone actually collects live ammo for historical reasons. Thanks

We still have to shoot a lot of it to make the stuff collectable, the more we shoot the more it is worth :)

If you have some interest there are a number of sites that deal with 303 British military headstamps, really cool stuff floating around, I have a couple gems and a lot more that is shootable.

If your head stamp actually reads 1944 DI Z you're about as far from India as possible. You have Canadian Mark VII ammunition with a nitro-cellulose load instead of cordite.

The Dum Dum factory used D, DF, N and S as their factory codes.

Incidentally, as long as it's been stored properly over the years, DI ammunition is very good stuff, I've shot hundreds of them over the years.

I learn something new every day.
I actually have a few hundred of those.
The ones I have are nitrocellulose and boxer primed. They are very nice rounds.
