Just wondering if the supply of surplus 7.62x54r is drying up bought a bunch for 160$ per 880 roubds years ago and now seeing it goes for around 400

its being used up faster than it can be produced.
im not even sure it is produced anymore aside from expensive factory hunting ammo
but the increase in conflict over seas the last couple years doesn't help the price as im sure there is some demand for it there, just a theory

yeah good luck finding 7.62x54R brass for a reasonable price. Last I saw was over $40 per box everywhere. I wouldn't mind having a few boxes of S&B 54R in my stash but hoping there will be a new order this spring with boxes in the $30 range. Would be a nice round to have for some true hunting say 100 or so. As of now if I want to hunt with my mosins or svt's I have to use 203gr MFS (proven to cut down 6 inch wide tree's with 6 shots, personally but not on purpose at the cottage sighting a scope). This round seems to be plentiful in brass in the states, why none up here? there are so many Mosins and SVT's kicking around Canada.
