Surplus ammo muzzle velocity....

I heard that the 7.62 x 39mm surplus ammo I bought is has only 500FPS muzzle velocity out of my SKS? I find this hard to believe. Anyone know the stats on this stuff? It's the exact same as the following from Marstar...

I really believe that your rifle would never function with a muzzle velocity of 500Fps. I think all of the surplus out there will be well over 2,000 Fps.

I can't get an SKS to cycle if the MV is less than 1500 fps.

Sounds like a "2" got lost somewhere..... "2"500 fps
