This seemed like the most relevant forum to post in.

I'm interested in picking up an old military surplus flare gun, however I was wondering if anywhere in Canada sells 26.5mm flares? Either surplus or new production. I couldn't find anything on a quick Google search other than that apparently you can buy adapters that will fit 12 gauge flares. Anybody know?

I don't know about Canada but I purchased flares that fit my gun the last time I was in San Francisco , California at a marine supply store. Since Calgary isn't that close to an ocean that might be a problem. Just another thought have you tried Googleing 26.5mm flares? I got 14,300 result.

Yeah I can find them all over the place, but just not here in Canada. I could likely order them from the States but I was warned by a guy at my local gun shop that they likely wouldn't get over the border as they are "small arms ammunition" or something. I'm not entirely sure if that is true?

There are 26.5 mm flares and there are 25 mm flares , they are similar but not the same.
If you measure your chamber and rim I can send you a couple of adapters that will allow used of 15 mm Truflare centrefire cartridges. I have 2 sizes (26.5 and 25 mm)

When you do find flares you have to be sure they match chamber diameter. A 26.5 flare will not fit a 25 mm chamber, you can wrap a 25 mm flare with masking tape and use an O ring to set the headspace and fire it in a 26.5 mm chamber.

Remember these flares are all corrosive (they use black powder) so clean with hot soapy water or your gun will corrode.

There's a flare gun forum on the interweb thingy somewhere, if you googy it shouldn't be hard to find. Etiquette says I shouldn't post a link here. But it's a pretty small membership "over there".
