Can these be used as a heat shield? Like for automotive purposes?
Is the outer layer flammable?

Just tested it. The super small fibers will light on fire for a second. The actual strands glow red hot but don't ignite.

After its red hot it just falls apart, not sure how long it would last as a heat shield.

Would like to order some but the link brings me to a "not found" page. Tried with multiple browsers. Any suggestions? New link?

Tested a bunch of mine out so far.

Results:

BB gun - not even 1 layer
175lb crossbow with field tip - small hole in 6 layers
22lr from 10/22 - 3 to 5 layers
7.62 x 39 steel core from Sks - penetrated 138 layers and continued on
7.62 x 39 steel core from Sks - 3/8" of polycarbonate and 135 layers of Kevlar stopped the round.
5.56 x 45 62gr tulammo from T97 - penetrated 3/8" polycarbonate and 138 layers of Kevlar and continued on

I assume each panel has more than one layer, but how many?

Anyone have any advice on the best way of cutting the fabric? I've tried knife, scissors without much luck. Only can cut about 2 layers at a time. Takes awile to cut 35 layers lol
