surprising results at 100 compared to 50

I have a couple of these patchworms, both in rifle and pistol lengths.

I use them on my 10/22 when I get back from the range, and I imagine they would be just as good for a quick hoppesing of the bore between brands at the range.
 
dryfire, whatever works, the main thing is to re-foul the barrel with different wax from different brands. I myself was very sceptical when I first heard the concept. Some old geezer told me "rifle gets used to ammo" - I looked at him funny. It sure turned out he knew what he was talking about. So, when you are trying new brand it is better to start with clean bore and re-foul it before shooting for groups.
