SVD dragunov scope on svt-40?

Hi, i know some people may find this weird or dumb but would it be possible to put an original svd dragunov sniper scope on a svt-40? (without big modifications...?)

so if i understand well, you can put a weaver mount directly on a svt-40?

not exactly if you want to avoid modifying you will have to get one of these

and those mounts will only fit on "railed" svt recievers

Anyone know which scopes fit the new replica SVT-40 scope mounts? Do those new Russians scopes fit (not sure what the diameter is 24mm for the rings?), or will I have to try and find an old PU scope?

Novosibirsk factory makes new production PU 3.5x22 rifle scopes. I believe it's 26.5 mm diameter.

It can be done with POSP mount/dragunov/ak type. I never done it but Russian sites and dealers claim that POSP Dragunov mount will fit on SVT. Personaly I think The reciver walls are too thin same situation as CZ 858 you will have to add a bracket to strenghten the reciver wall

anyway i would get one of these

its a posp 8x42 from east wave (Canadian importers .....about 188) but it mounts conventionally

the result is you get a soviet rifle soviet scope that you can change back and not wreck the historic integrity of your rifle ......now if only there was replacement stocks
