OK. the SVT40 is in the books, but before i get one i would like to know if anyone knows of the availability of replacement stocks. either the original style, or preferably synthetic. its a beauty but the stock does seem to crack often enough to warrant preventative, if not tacticool measures.. hehe:)

Try to get a SVT with AVT stock. That stock is beefier and unlikely to crack. Problem solved:)

yep, ive searched high and low but no luck yet... however boydgunstocks in the states may be able to make new ones.. ill let u know how that pans out.

you could sand the existing stock down and duracoat it, be sure to post pics on here, but also should post on a major american forum or two. The hilarity of the reactions will be worth far more than the purchase price of the gun itself.

There is a chap in Poland who makes stocks for the SVT that are primo!!! He also makes stocks for the G/K43 along with the handguards as well.
You can find him on GUNBROKER selling the G43 stocks so just PM him for a price on the Tokarev stocks. He does nice work.

samre guy on ebay

same gents on flea bay as well. makes quite a few stocks for different toys .
his work looks very good .

+1 on that, he is on Ebay too and does good work

Just saw a tacticool SVT stock at the woodstock, on gunshow 2 months ago. Was ugly. Lol.
No idea who makes it but synthetic tactical stocks do exist.

For the whole 1 or 2 days that you won't be able to use it if the stock cracks, why would you want something that is heavier, ugly and feels dead in your hands?

with alternative stocks come alternative mounting methods. as is most (including the 1 im interested in) do not have the grooves/locking nut for the scope mount, hence only 1 option remains, the side mount similar to the 1 at westrifle.

boyds = no, ebay = yes. the polish guys makes these beautiful hardwood stocks but in only 1 style and its a long wait. still searching for tacticoolness..
