SVT 40 bolt wet or dry

Just wondering how you guys run your SVT 40 bolt wet or dry?

I just lightly oil everything after cleaning. I don't add any more before I shoot her again. Maybe a drop or two on the rails that the bolt carrier moves along. I also just finished stripping the bolt and bolt carrier of the horrible plumb finish and returned her to her wartime glory.

Sounds good :) Figured since its not a free floating firing pin a little oil wont hurt and will keep everything working smooth unlike my SKS I run nice and dry but oil the hell out of the rails to insure proper cycling. I agree that plumb finish looks like crap and I will definitely be stripping it off soon enough.

It supposedly to do with the high nickel content - most turn plump, some gold and a few rare are black. Don't know what colour the Russians were actually aiming for, but my gold one looks the nicest. Got a black Kovrov on the way and I have every other shade in between...
