SVT 40 gas adjustment won't budge

So I'm taking apart my svt's. The first one was easy. Gas System came apart no prob. The second rifle, after I unscrewed the piston, I went to push out the adjustment valve. I don't have any tools to turn it with out stripping it. I was thinking of taking a small punch to the top of the adjuster and giving it a love tap. Am I risking damaging the adjuster? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Mine was stuck and I gave it a tap with a brass drift. I have the tool but I didn't want to risk ruining that weird hex head.
Just a little tap and it will pop loose.

There shouldn't be anything to hold it in other than dirt/corrosion. Give it a drop of penetrating oil and a tap.

Loosen your gas plug first and try it. Some times the gas plug screws into far and butts up tight against the gas nut.

Success! all it needed was a few taps with a punch. It was just a tight fit, no fouling or corrosion.
