So I got an SVT 40 not long ago and have lots of ammo around for my nagants, I tried it out on 1.3 but ran into some issues with chinese ammo I believe, These are the 4 types of ammo I'll be shooting out of it, i believe 2 are privi one is chinese and cant remember what the last one is?

Is there a gas setting that is fairly universal to surplus ammo?

1.5 should be perfect, i run mine at that setting, summer and winter. I use chinese, czech and russian ammos.

Different ammo, not different calibres!

Just sayin......

Yikes. Thats what I read too.

Back to SVT40, not all ammo is the same and I seem to have to adjust it for each one. I've marked on the box what gas setting I should use. For example, I'd write 1.3 on the Czech surplus ammo, and 1.5 on the Russian surplus. Its not a perfect system but i'm just shooting the Czech rounds until I run out, then its the Russian stuff, which seems to shoot better.
