Looks like I`m getting a SVT 40 what all do I need to know about the gas setting?
Just adjust/set it same drill as the FN C1? ie when bolt is held open (firing with empty mag) that is set?

Ahhhh there are tons of threads on svt gas adjustment. Read some of them. the svt can be finnicky sometimes, different ammo and temps cen require different settings. You'll just have to read a lot and try it.
Just search svt. Almost every thread is about a gas issue

This link will show you how to do it, along with a few other things.

I would use 1.3 as a good base setting. Two of mine run flawlessly at 1.3, the other likes 1.5. If they throw brass too far, adjust it down one setting at a time until you get FTE's, then dial it up to the next higher setting. An SVT in decent shape should function reliably with only a little bit of fiddling with the gas system. I was worried when I first started suing mine from al the posts about it, but trust me, its not tough.

C1 method will work on the SVT ;)
