svt 40 mag

Unfortunately, you probably can't. What happened to your mag, did you lose it or is it broken? Hopefully you did not buy one without!
Mine popped out when I first got it and hid from me until I spent enough time looking for it. It also needed fixing to be able to work.
It is well worth all the hassle.

Even with all the ALL the quirks and problems that come with these rifles I still find it my favorite surplus gun to shoot with no runner ups. go to Lever arms in Van and buy a factory mag for $310.( it comes with a spare gun attached to it) ;)

From a past discussion I got the impression that Corwin Arms either has, or expected to soon get, a shipment of reproduction magazines.

But understand that even a good repro will take filing/fitting of multiple interfaces to fit into your rifle. A bit easier than refitting mag lips, but not trivial.

Failing that:

I'll buy the busted one off you for $50. That way you're half way to your $100 replacement, and I get a victim for my...experiments.

I hear ya, even with my Cadex and Tavor, the SVT40 gets the most trigger time when I go shooting ever since I mounted the Repo scope and mount. Funny how a cheap 500$ gun gives me more enjoyment... lol...

And it makes a bigger "ding" when it hits the 200y gong

Not a bad idea^^! Every SVT owner should have a spare parts rifle.

Actually, I've been seeing a flurry of these one sale in the EE recently.

Any idea what gives?

I'd be very cautious...

There's a lot of repro mags floating around, and while they can be made to work, they require more than a little monkeying around with the mag catch lug on the rear, and adjusting the feed lips on the top, before they can be made to feed fairly reliably.

West rifle has repro mags for sale. Someone I know bought one. Made in Taiwan. Not bad quality but when we tried it in my rifle, it wouldn't grab rounds from the magazine. He will try to mod the thing.

I got two from the last batch west rifle had. one worked fine. the other required fitting depends on the gun. file sandpaper etc. Local Canadian tire had the mags for $110

Try Numrich They list one at around $45.00. They are a supplier in the U.S.. Prices reasonable and items top quality. I hve been using them for years.
