SVT-40 mags for purchase (?)

I am making my next milsurp purchase - and I am going to be getting a chopped mag with my purchase.

I am wondering if anyone sells the mags? I know they apparently aren't that easy to come by.

Buy one with a complete full lentgh mag, an original mag will cost almost as much as the complete rifle.

I snapped one off here; 125 to get it to my door.
Numrich had them for 50-60; which is about 100 to your door.

If they come up, expect $125 to $150, I wouldn't bother buying a SVT with chopped mag.

Yeah, I scored one for 95 shipped but it was before they got popular. Now over $100 if your lucky enough to find one. Good luck.

Those are recently made reproductions, that need to be pinned to 5 rounds before being imported.

X2 don't buy one with a chopped mag,buy one from a dealer that has un-raped mags.

I have two mags for the SVT but one is a waffel mag and the other is standard.
Any idea why the waffle mags was produced?

I finally located the mags but they are 5 shot. I looked the Numrich site and realized my mags aren't as long as the one shown in the schematics and picture of the one shown in their advertisement. The SVT short mag was probably for one converted to 303.
I compared the two mags in the accompanying pictures, they are similar but have slightly different dimensions. The mags are about the same length, & height but the maximum width if the mags at the top vary. The smooth sided mag is 1.065" and the waffle mag is 1.135".
The differences in the locking lugs are obvious, by size and location.

I looked it up after I read your comment and its for the SVD.
Not many SVDs around, and that cleared up the mystery.
