SVT 40 Parts Gun Value

You might be better off to sell it as is. If you part it out, you'll likely be left with unsalable bits and pieces. It will also take time.

If the damage is to the barrel and not the receiver ebay.com has a barrel for 115$ US or get a barrel of wtb on the EE. The SVT breaks down pretty quick just you tube MosinVirus. He has an awesome vid of the whole procedure. Either way warrenlikesboats is right check the prices on Numrich Parts and the pieces are worth way more than the whole(at least in the states).

Parted out, you'll make almost enough to replace the gun. The magazine alone is worth $75-100, possibly more.

Look into what parts you can legally export south of the border. With the import ban that kicked in thanks to Clinton v1 in the 90s, SVT's are rare, expensive, and highly prized down there. Fixer uppers start at $1200 USD down south, and spare parts are non existent outside of cannibalized guns.

Anything you can export south will sell quickly, and for a substantial premium over what you can get up here.

Flutes length is different for early and late rifles, however they won't cause such a bulge. Your assessment of the issue I think is correct - damaged chamber. I can't imagine though how such damage could be done.
Selling gun as parts is not a problem. Parts are in steady demand here and south. If you're interested in selling it as parts gun - PM me.

Somebody cleaning it with a drill bit!? Am I seeing that right. Looks like it has a groove channeled in it in the chamber....

Like you already have seen, If you part it, the mag will sell in seconds.... the rest Im not so sure how long you would be keeping in a box. Guess it is all dependent on prices.. Good Luck!!

I parted out a broken svt, i got more from the parts than i paid for the rifle as a whole. didnt take to long to sell either. not a lot of parts available.

The return springs, firing pin, bolt carrier, trigger group, bolt, extractor, the front muzzle brake/sight assembly, OP rods, piston and cup set, and the little Pentagon gas pressure selector should all sell for good money and reasonably fast. I have a parts gun as well, but have decided not to sell anything on it just in case the day come that too need parts for one of my operational SVT's..... Although worst comes worst, people could always 3D draft the part and get a shop to CNC it...

From the shape of the damage i wonder if that isnt the tip of an empty steel case being used as a practice round... gouging the inside of the chamber wall there. that or someone chucked a steel brush into a drill and went bonkers.
