svt 40 proverbial barrel empties ?

Does anyone has a real beat on the proverbial svt 40 surplus stock situation? Is the barrel empy? Or is this just a fad?

I don't have any inside info, but I'm thinking that a lot of the Red Rifle scarcity in general (lots fewer Mosins and SKS's coming in at the moment as well) is actually being driven by the situation in the Ukraine. Most of the imports were coming in from there. Or through there. There was some speculation a while back that a lot of it was coming from Russia, and the only thing that went through the Ukraine was the paperwork.

Either way, the Ukraine is still a mess, and until it gets sorted out, we're probably SOL for large scale imports.
