SVT-40 safety alteration

I was doing a little bragging to my American brother-in-law today over my purchase of a nice SVT-40 ( they're insanely expensive down there) and he told me that his buddy has one in an AVT stock that has a safety that moves in both directions but ISN'T full auto.

Kinda took the wind out of my sails because mine doesn't....and now I want one that does, lol.

Is tjis something I can get done by a gunsmith, and if so, what is a reasonable price to pay for the service? I'm in the lower mainland if there is a gunsmith someone can recommend for this.

Hmm maybe it's a avt that has been converted to semi auto, I havnt held an svt that the safety moves to the right

I looked at my svt trigger today it seams it could be done pretty easy with a small file by rounding out the safety

Why would you want to do that? What purpose would it serve?

If you are not careful you could end up with a safety that isnt.

As I said earlier....maybe something a gunsmith could do? I want a safety that works but I also want it to operate to the left and right as a safety. It sits in an AVT stock, the ability to switch to the faux 'auto' position would be a nice feature...no?
