If the receiver sides have the grooves, all that's needed is having the keyway cut at the top rear of the receiver. Repro mounts are not inexpensive and will fit the SVT model PU scope.

Cheaper to have a smith build a side mount of some sort.
 
Your Globeco .303 SVT has been heavily modified already. It there are two little slots on the sides of the receiver you can use a proper SVT scope mount. Otherwise I'd agree that a side mount properly screwed to the sidewall is a good compromise. There are a lot of Moisin Nagant style sniper rifle bits and pieces in circulation, that you wouldn't be insulting history THAT much. Russian aftermarket scopes and bases on a modified Russian rifle.
 
i hear there is a b-square mount for the svt -40...........any idea were one can be bought or is this now a discontinued items........price i was told round 70 dollars or so.
 
update ........contacted B-SQUARE ( www.B-square.com ) an grabbed last svt-40 scope mount they had but cost, 69$us plus ship.
the gent /customer rep told me if ENOUGH interest is recieved they may RESUME /stock them again. svt 40 mounts plus rings.
also.
a firm called midsouth shooters supply ( www.midsouthshooters.com ) had some listed for 43.50$ usa.
but when i asked they emailed me they couldnt ship to us canucks without da permit inport /export thing.
if your lookin an can convince them perhaps theres your mount.
