Hi Guys,

I've read from rifleslings dot com that the 1891/30 slings were used on SVT40's....

I picked up some of these several years ago, and was told that these were originally for the Russian PPSH submachineguns, but were also used on Mosin Nagants. I have several SVT slings that look quite similar, but are wider, and some that resemble this or the wider sling, but are made out of leather. During WW2, many SVT, Mosin, and submachinegun "emergency pattern" slings were made that used leather tie thongs at each end instead of buckles. The Russians made several patterns of slings for each of their weapons during WW2, and these seem to have been used not only on the rifles or submachineguns they were intended for, but on all the other types of weapons also. I guess that when you're marching through the snow to face an SS Panzer Division, it doesn't really matter whether you are carrying your rifle with a Mosin, SVT, or PPSH sling, as long as you have one.

So anyone got a 1891/30 sling on theirs? Can you post a picture?

The way I got mine on just don't look right....

The 91/30 sling wasn't designed for the mosin mounts, but it was used in a pinch as your blurb describes. That's why it loks a little funky, the dog collars were made to be fed thru the ports in the stock in the 91/30, not through the loops on the SVT.

If you want it to look fashionable you'll need a PPSH/SVT sling, otherwise you'll have to live with the crooked looking 91/30 sling.
