SVT-40 story manual

7.62x54r.net and mosinnagant.net have some good sections on the SVT-40 along with history, markings information, and maintenance tips.
 
There was a US Army manual on the SVT, AVT, and AVS rifles released sometime after the war that can be found on milsurps.com's knowledge section, but while it has relevant information about care and disassembly of the guns, most of the rest of it is just bashing the guns to make the US' hardware seem superior.

lol I have a pdf copy of that manual.
It has the Mosin Nagant, SKS and SVT-40 as captured and analyzed by US ordinance troops.
It's pretty funny to read the BS propaganda about the Soviet weapons being inferior.
A good read all around for dissasembly and historical curiosity though.
 
Vic of Gunboards wrote a small booklet on the SVT-40, if you go to Gunboards.com I am sure you could buy a copy of it from Vic.
