Quick question... I'm looking to sell two SVT 40. I see several on the ee for 500 or so that aren't selling. Some other ads marked sold with no price listed anymore. What's a fair price that will sell reasonably fast? Are they still available from dealers?
Average quality rifles.

Since Lever Arms is still selling them for $375 from the crate I'm not sure why people are selling them for $500. The EE is a strange marketplace.

Depends on the rifle. Ordering online from a retailer sight unseen is a bit of a dice roll in what rifle you will receive. I have bought a few in the 500 range but they were versions that are more rare for the vault. Still SVT-40's are a nice shooting rifle. They are well worth the price. Of my limited milsurp collection the SVT is my favorite rifle to shoot.

This is a low time in the market, right before xmas and a time for those with a larger bankroll to pick up nice rifles on the cheaper side. Prices rose all year until about October. If you are in no hurry perhaps wait until next spring or summer to sell your rifles.

Was it only two years ago that Lever had the $200.00 Christmas SVT special? I bought one and it ended up being my favorite SVT 40 range gun. Frankly, it was disappointing learning that these refurbs typically had no original parts on them outside of barrel/ receiver. If I was going to pay $500.00 for one (of the typical refurbs) today, I would be inquiring very hard about bore condition, fit of barreled action in stock, and maybe asking to see a sample target shot with the rifle. If you are just looking to buy one as a representative SVT for your collection that you might want to shoot, the stamping on the receiver is not terribly important.
