Svt-40

I just bought a pair of Svt-40 magazines at $90 each from them and they were pretty much garbage. It says "may require fitting" on their website so I was expecting to do some filing, but they were awful, locking lugs are too far towards the top of the magazine, and stick out too far, the feeding ramp sticks up too high and prevents the bolt from closing, and the tab on the back of the magazine that is supposed to hold the bolt open barely sticks out at all and fails to hold the bolt open, and it is not part of the follower but is a lose part which complicates the design and causes the follower to stick. I got one of them to sorta fit into the gun (very tightly but workable) but it will not feed ammunition into the chamber as it doesn't hold them high enough.

I would try to return them, but I've marked them up trying to get them to work.

You'd be better off making your own magazine.

Well I ordered my svt from leverarms this Sunday past, can't wait to get it! Expected delivery on the 22nd. Does anyone know where to get stripper clips? Are they as easy to get as sks clips?

I bought a crate of them when they were $200 One sniper two Podolsks

I was being a little facetious about the "customer service" crack. They usually have 5-10 SVT's on display that they will let you paw through for a few minutes.
Here's some more Lever storeroom #### from Canadian produced tv show Weapon Hunter.

We make a weapon show? Huh...

What were they hunting for?

Shame I didn't get into firearms until my 30's, In my 20's when I had much more disposable income I would have loaded up on these. If you also look at your firearms as an investment where most surplus will increase in value its a secure investment that will inflate like gold and silver. Especially on rifles that are well known from history and will progressively become more rare raising the value. Were "plonker" to sell all 10 rifles avg price $400 he would double his money, a better investment than even real estate. That is part of my strategy with firearms that see's me with 11 surplus rifles right now. I do not need 11 rifles but I lay odds I will do better on these than I did with some of my stock purchases. I really thought it would be a good investment buying stock in fertilizer companies supplying China, turns out state corruption and executive miss-management bankrupted that idea, lol bye bye money.

That episode he was finding sniper variants from WWII and trying them all out. The SVT, Enfield and Garand I think.
Each episode is about finding and completing a certain old weapon. Lots of Canadian content. It's a typical goofy reality show with fake drama but still worth a watch for all the old collections he shows.
