Svt-40

They still have 19 podolsk SVT-40's left they just cost a little more, but If you think about it they will increase in price once they are gone so its not that bad of a deal.

Unfired SVTs do exist. Some number of '44 made rifles were never issued and in a recent years were sold in Russia on civil market. We have none of those here, as our SVTs came from Ukraine (Soviet refurbished), Finland (Finn capture), Bulgaria (Bulgarian refurb). Some came from Germany, but they are originally were exported from Ukraine, so same Soviet refurbs.

Their site states:

These represent arsenal refurbished SVT-40s and are not necessarily numbers matching
There are likely to be factory stock repairs.
Overall condition is fair to good

We do not have the ability to handle additional requests regarding bore condition, specific year, etc. If you would like a chance to select from the available rifles visit us in store.

* We are unable to honor specific requests regarding subjective matters like stock condition, colour, finish, stock repairs, or bore condition - thank you for your understanding *

Rollin the bones on what you will get.

There are some great dealers out there that are willing to go the extra mile and will take good detailed pics of the actual rifle and answer questions such as year and the like.

Keep an eye on the EE is your best bet

An unfired svt40 . There the joke .

Unfired since refurbed and covered in cosmoline. Given these are not manufactured anymore that's as close to a new rifle as you're ever going to get. Lever went out of stock well over a month ago. I didn't really want one at first, but made the plunge about 2 weeks before they ran out. With all the hype on the forums (3 top posts on reddit within a week, mentioning lever arms) I figured they'd sell out pretty fast. Glad I got it - very fun rifle. May have missed the boat on the K31s (sob) but at least I got this.

Of course it was a frankenmonster with unmatched everything, but essentially is an early izhevsk (1941 w/ old style muzzle brake). Fantastic AVT stock on it. And the cleaning rod is heavily corroded and cleaned/refinished, which makes me think it was picked off some battlefield rifle that rusted out, which is kind of interesting.

I picked up a Podolsk in January, a so called Grade A, wish I got another Tula and Izzy for the price and condition of they're so called Grade A. At least West Rifle has pictures to help you choose which sks or mosin to get. They have always treated me very well.

When I ordered my Podolsk at Leverarms I purchased it on line then called in and asked if I could get a 4 port. Previously I've spoken to an older guy that seemed to be pretty good and did what i asked but this time I got some little #######. He gave me a bunch of attitude then hung up on me.

When I got the gun there was a big hole in the box, the gun was flopping around in the oversized box unsecured. Luckily there's no damage to the rifle but it left a bad taste in my mouth because I ended up spending $756 with tax and shipping to Edmonton.

You are right though, there are dealers that will bend over backwards to help out a customer. I think we should all support those guys.

I apologize for the late bump. I am still in the market for one, does any Shop place have SVT 40 refurbs in stock currently? Or did we hit a drought and no more new stock entering the country? I have not seen them in stock on Stores I could find searching on Google for hours.

Will be the odd rifle here and there at retail from estates and dealers but we will not see a retailer selling these enmass until new sources are found.

Best to look on the secondary market. I got all of my SVT'S thru secondary sale, get lots of picks or buy locally for visual inspection if possible and dive it. SVTS are great they even have a Mod in Fallout 4 for those that still or have ever played it. You can actually get a mod for K98, Mosin or SVT40 sorry no sks

My oldest son played those games and he knew the SVT from the games,, I offered all my kids the same thing, if they got their pal, they could pick a Russian rifle ( sks, mosin, svt) he got the pal and promptly chose my only SVT !! I was going to get another one but procrastinated too long!

I got to know the SVT from Call of Duty World At War the ww2 game from years back...the SVT w/scope was my fave to use semi...and the mosin was my fave bolt action in the game...for non-us rifles anyway...Garands are too rich for my blood :)
