I don't know too much about these rifles so I'm looking for a little clarification.

It's a 1943 Tula SVT-40. From what I've read Tula didn't make SVT-40's in 1943 though (if someone can verify that please?)
The receiver is stamped 1943 with a square on it.
The stock is stamped with the Tula star and dated 1943 as well with an "A" indicating an AVT stock.

Thanks

Tula manufacturing moved to Mednogorsk in late 41 but rifles still bear the Tula star. AVT stock is correct for that year. This was not converted from AVT, the square is the refurb factory stamp. No receiver rails. Early front sling attachment. Later 4 port brake.

If you are looking for an SVT have sellers shoot you a pic of the gas system piston. If it is corroded and pitted walk away. Don't buy one without seeing this.
