SVT to Dragunov

you know a metal dropin mod that you could add the stock and forearm and scope to?

i would, even if i had to make the front wood

A company called Globe Firearms ruined several SVT-40s by converting them to .303 and sporterizing them back in the '60s.

what i am thinking is very similar to wallys where the stock can be kept aside and the rifle can be returned to original configuration

I have had a few of the STVs in 303, but they didn't exactly work that well. The barrels were cut just before the gas port and the front sight mounted on the top of the gas system at the very front. The last one I had the carrier was broke and I was able to order one from the US. That was in the good old days.

I also wonder about the smaller cartridge if it would have anough pressure to cycle the action...that would be my concern with it...that and cuting the barrel back...you need the leanth to get the proper pressure.

The 303's worked. The issue is that Globeco did a horrible job all round.

I'd be stoked on an SVT to SVD conversion, I sold off all my stuff to do it because I just didn't have the energy.

nope

but then i am asking to gauge interest.

I would be happy with the metal "drop in" myself

aside from the fore stock, the rear part is relatively easy to get
