SVT to Dragunov

would you be interested in a svt to dragunov drop in kit if you could reverse it?

I think you can totally make SVT-40 to look like SVD, but the stock would be really expensive as it would be a mix of metal and wood that would cover original receiver and gas system. In addition, the muzzle brake would stay original (too hard to replace), same for mags.

If you could make somthing that rivaled BBQ-Woa's SVT-40/ Dragunuv, then I would be all over that. Would probably pay top dollar if the workmanship and care of details were there.

I think it was originally done by Kasat if I'm not mistaken.

Yes and no... the butt stocks with hardware can be had off epay etc, for about $14 before shipping. Reciever would cost more the more accurate you wanted to be. The heat shields could be dropped and the gas system covered by a steel tube instead, and Kasats/bbq woa!'s SVT/SVD looked pretty good with an FAL flashhider threaded onto where the nut on the end of the muzzle break usually is.

P.S. - it looked really good. Though I've never heard it said, I really honestly suspect a lot of what made the SVT was put into the SVD, despite the so called total ground up build for the original SVD. Too much stuff is in the same or almost the same place for it to be otherwise.

If the issue is drop off stock, then my understanding was that:
1) remove old stock and heat shield
2) put new stock on

New stock would have:
1) upper shield that would provide SVD type cover for piston system and wood (probably can fit original)
2) bottom part, that would have wooden stock, metal cover for receiver and front wood (I guess you can use all original wood, but need to create a metal connector between front and back stoke to make it to resemble SVD)

My friend and I are looking into this as well.
I've noticed a few sites over in the UK for SVD odds and ends, like the front sight/flash hider. I saw them on for 89 pounds I believe but sold out.
As for the wood furniture being a carpenter i'll make my own, maybe red oak or walnut with maple inlay.
