SVT sniper scopes seem to sell for more that later PU scopes. Is it rarity? For using purposes is there a reason to get one rather than the other?

SVT scope was made in smaller number so that explain the price. The SVT and the PU are basically the same scope, except for the stepped section of the rear body on the SVT scope. Calibration is also a bit different, that's why many svt scope used on mosin sniper are CB marked on elevation turret, mean that the scope is calibrated for the mosin with its longer barrel but i doubt that the difference is important since some svt scope are not recalibrated when in use on mosin. A svt scope is needed if you want to put it on a svt 40 sniper because its the one that will fit in the mount(btw the original svt 40 mount are next to impossible to find:()

Ack on the mounts. Saw one original mount a few years ago and it sold for $1200 US. The only other one I saw came with a scope and sold for $2000+US.
