.308" bullets are the wrong diameter. 7.63 x 54R uses a .311" bullet. Speer makes .311" SP's in 150 and 180 grains.
110 grain bullets were made for the .30 Carbine too. Wrong bullet, again.
Dents on the necks are likely caused by the case hitting the receiver on the way out. Like Smellie says, adjusting the gas and making sure the extractor and ejector are clean can fix that. However, like you say, it's not really a big deal.
